Wow! It's been BUSY!

The past two weeks have been extremely busy and I know that with the end of the school year rapidly approaching, things will get even busier! We had some wonderful things happen over the last two weeks that I wanted to share with you, but I haven't even had time to blog about them.

Second grade performed a wonderful Fairy Tale program for the entire school. They worked so hard on the performance and it was spectacular! I loved how they took current and popular songs and added a fairy tale twist to them.  The students dressed up in fairy tale costumes and looked super cute too. Just look at these adorable characters!

We also had a visit from the superhero Batman. He came to help us thank the many volunteers who give so much of their time to help out the school.  We honored them with a delicious breakfast as a small token of our appreciation for all of the things they do around the school to help us. We could NOT do it without them! They are true HEROES for OHE!

Fourth grade took a field trip to the Capitol and the Texas State Cemetery since they did not get to go last year in third grade due to weather. They had a great time and even got to see a large rally going on at the Capitol. I'm sure they enjoyed seeing all of the people there.

The Soaring Eagle singers performed and as always, it was fantastic! They just keep getting better and better. Ms. Brown and Ms. Flaherty continue to work so hard to make this group such a huge success. I know the students love being in choir!

This coming week, we have spirit day on Friday. Be sure to wear some shades or neon clothes to show how bright your future is! The week after, May 9-11, is our last round of STAAR testing. Students in 3,4, and 5 will be testing on various days. The campus will be closed on May 9, 10, and 11.

I can't believe it's May already! This year has flown by and it has been a great one!
